Hey everybody! Welcome to another protein shake recipe here at Whey Protein Shakes. Today’s recipe is equally as delicious as it is nutritious. I am a huge fan of peanut butter and could eat it with everything, hence my love of this drink.

This protein shake provides a healthy amount of protein, but its two main, stand out ingredients are peanut butter and bananas. So you maybe wondering, what is so great about peanut butter and bananas. Well…

Bananas have a whole host of health benefits. To name just a few, bananas can help to improve such things as your heart and nerves. Bananas contain a high amount of potassium, which helps to lower blood pressure and reduces the chances of developing atherosclerosis, strokes and heart attacks. The high levels of potassium also help to prevent the weakening of bones.

Peanut butter also provides some health benefits. Peanut butter is high in mono-unsaturated fats which can help to lower the risk of heart disease. Peanut butter also contains a number of nutrients such as niacin, potassium, magnesium and vitamin E. Peanut butter is fairly high in protein which is great when bulking up and you need to pack on some extra muscle.

So how do you make a peanut and banana protein shake? Well…

Ingredients

1/2 of a banana
1 heaped tablespoon of peanut butter
30g of vanilla flavoured protein powder
500ml of skimmed milk
1 tablespoon of honey

Directions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender
  2. Blend away!
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy
